My Cinque Terre
Welcome to My Cinque Terre. This website is built out of love for a very special part of Italy - the Italian Riviera. Not posh like the French Riviera, but quaint, full of history, and a place to visit off the beaten path (even though in the last few years, it's been discovered by more tourists). Traffic-free with lots of sun, sand and sea, the Cinque Terre is pure Italy.
If you are tired of all the thronging crowds - found in all of the famous cities populated by tourists - then travel to the northwestern part of Italy and book a pensione, hotel, or room for rent (affita camera) in one of the five charming hamlets of Cinque Terre and plan on staying anywhere from 2 to 7 days (or more!) It's a sigh of relief and a breath of fresh sea air for the tired traveler. The Cinque Terre is a rather remote part of the Italian coast located on the Ligurian Sea and made up of 5 towns called Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Each town is perched on the edge of a rocky shoreline or nestled in a little valley - still overlooking the sea. Enjoy a refreshing swim, incredible hiking and the romance of a wonderful dinner in one of the many local restaurants (ristorante). Make home base in one of the towns and easily travel between them by foot or by a small milk train. It'll be the part of your trip to Italy that you'll remember as the place you could take a break and not feel like you were missing anything. Enjoy browsing through this Website. Look up some of the history of Cinque Terre, find out about hotels, rooms for rent and quaint pensiones. And if you have a desire to learn Italian, you can find out more about that too. But whatever you do, go to this beautiful place, respect the locals and enjoy all that these "five lands" by the sea have to offer.
