A little background info for you: The Cinque Terre is a rather remote part of the Italian coast located on the Ligurian Sea and made up of 5 towns called Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Each town is perched on the edge of a rocky shoreline or nestled in a little valley - still overlooking the sea.
